In April 2022 we completed an initial hydrogeological survey report done by Chem Chem Drilling, a private Tanzanian company who has more than 10 years experience in building boreholes in the area. Even though the initial findings confirmed that there was a good possibility of extracting underground water 150m below earth, no survey could guarantee that we would find potable water. There was a big risk we had to take to continue our mission. 
 

The drilling started in June 2022, and went through difficulties with machinery, after almost 10 weeks the exploration for the pilot hole went underground 199meters. 

 

Water was found, at a capacity of 200L per/ hour, which unfortunately is a very small quantity and not worth investment to install extraction pumps, as it will likely dry out within months.
